In-Society Hub

Teacher Policy

Last Updated: August 3, 2026

Mentorria is only as good as the people who teach it. Whether you're a Local Tutor guiding students in person at a community hub, or a Global Subject Expert teaching live from anywhere in the world, these policies explain what we expect from you — and what students and parents can expect from Mentorria.

This is one policy with two tracks: Sections 1–3 apply to every Tutor. Section 4 splits into Local Tutor–specific and Global Tutor–specific responsibilities, since your day-to-day setup is genuinely different.

1. Shared Trust & Safety Principles (All Tutors)

  • Honor published session times. Communicate promptly with the Academic Coordinator and families about any schedule changes.
  • Maintain a professional, respectful tone with students, parents, and fellow Tutors at all times.
  • All Tutors are considered mandatory reporters and must follow all legally required protocols to report suspected abuse, neglect, or danger to a minor.
  • Bring any known case of self-harm, suicidal ideation, or a student in emotional distress to Mentorria's Safety Team immediately so appropriate support can be arranged.
  • Do not share your account credentials or session access with anyone.
  • Only one guest instructor is permitted in a session at a time, and any guest must be pre-approved by Mentorria. An unverified guest may never be left alone with students.
  • A regular co-teacher or recurring guest must go through Mentorria's own Tutor verification process — "borrowed" access is not permitted.
  • No romantic or personal relationship of any kind with a student, on or off the platform.

2. Privacy & Learner Safety (All Tutors)

  • Verify you're speaking with the correct, enrolled student(s) at the start of every session.
  • Report any unauthorized person joining a session, hub area, or classroom immediately.
  • Do not store student content, messages, images, or session recordings outside Mentorria's official systems.
  • In-person contact with a student outside your assigned hub role or an official Mentorria event is not permitted, under any circumstance.
  • Limit any third-party tool or resource to what's disclosed in your program/session listing, and never direct a student under 18 to a tool that isn't appropriate and compliant for their age.
  • Disclose any use of AI tools in your teaching materials or session delivery in your program listing.
  • For any gaming-related or interactive digital activity, use the most private mode available and never collect personal identifiers (gamer tags, usernames, etc.) in a shared/public class feed.

3. Content & Program Standards (All Tutors)

Clarity & Originality

  • Program and session listings must be accurate and reflect exactly what's delivered.
  • Avoid sensational language or guarantees of specific outcomes (e.g., "guaranteed top rank").
  • Include a minimum of four example topics for any ongoing tutoring or enrichment program.
  • Disclose any sensitive content, participation risks, required accounts, or personal information needed for a program.
  • Titles and descriptions should be age-appropriate, professional, and free of coupon codes, excessive emojis, or ALL CAPS formatting.
  • Respect third-party intellectual property; do not use copyrighted material without rights to do so.
  • Any major change to a program's content or structure must be resubmitted to the Academic Coordinator for review before it goes live.

Class Content

  • Teach only in subjects where you have verified expertise.
  • Content and materials must suit the stated age range of your students.
  • Use inclusive language and avoid excluding or restricting who may participate.
  • Avoid roleplay or debate formats that frame any group of people as superior to or oppressive over another.
  • Facilitate discussion of social or civic topics from multiple perspectives rather than promoting a personal viewpoint.
  • Keep programs religiously neutral — present, don't promote, any specific faith or belief system.

4. Role-Specific Responsibilities

4.1 Local Tutor (On-Site Facilitator)

  • Be physically present and actively supervising for the entire duration of every hub session — including during Global Tutor live sessions.
  • Manage sign-in/sign-out of every student against the hub's authorized pickup list.
  • Maintain the hub as a safe, organized, and focused learning space — set up stations, manage transitions, and enforce behavior expectations in the room.
  • Support the Global Tutor's live session by managing the room, encouraging participation, and stepping in for any technical or behavioral issue on the local end.
  • Complete Mentorria's required Local Tutor training before independently supervising a hub session.
  • Report any hub safety issue (facility, equipment, or student-related) to the Academic Coordinator the same day it occurs.
  • Maintain a valid background check on file, renewed annually.
  • Reside in, or be readily available to, the community/city where your assigned hub operates.

4.2 Global Subject Expert (Live Remote Tutor)

  • Deliver sessions only through Mentorria's approved platform/smart-panel integration — never through a personal video call link, phone number, or personal social media.
  • Use a professional, quiet, camera-ready setup. Sessions from a vehicle, bed, bathroom, or other non-professional space don't meet Mentorria's standards.
  • Remain visible, identifiable, and on camera for the full session.
  • Coordinate with the on-site Local Tutor before and during each session, especially for younger age groups or activity-based lessons.
  • Self-paced or recorded lesson content must include a pre-recorded video of at least one minute per lesson, matching the stated syllabus.
  • Maintain a valid background check on file, renewed annually, appropriate to your country of residence.
  • Confirm you're located in a Mentorria-supported country/region and available for your scheduled session times, accounting for time zone differences.

5. Earnings & Payments

  • All payments for Mentorria programs must be processed through Mentorria's official payment system — Tutors may not collect payment directly from parents.
  • Local Tutors are engaged on a contractor basis and paid per batch or per session delivered, based on the schedule confirmed with your Academic Coordinator.
  • Global Subject Experts are engaged on a contractor basis. Payment structure depends on the subject taught, and will be one of the following:
    • A fixed per-session rate, or
    • A revenue share of program fees for the batches you teach.
  • A valid, verified payout method (bank account or equivalent) is required to receive payment.
  • If a refund is issued to a family after a Tutor has already been paid for that session, the Tutor is responsible for remitting the corresponding amount back to Mentorria.
  • Tutors are responsible for issuing/facilitating refunds for any session that did not take place as scheduled due to Tutor unavailability.

6. Account Compliance (All Tutors)

  • Annual background checks are required for both Local Tutors and Global Subject Experts.
  • You must verify your identity through Mentorria's verification process before teaching your first session.
  • Your profile must include a clear photo where your face is visible and clearly recognizable.
  • Your profile name must include a variant of your legal name — no pseudonyms or handles.
  • Inactive Tutor profiles (no sessions delivered in a specified timeframe) may be unlisted from active scheduling until reactivated.
  • Local Tutors must be based in, or reliably available at, their assigned hub's community/city.
  • Global Subject Experts must be physically located in — and confirm residency in — a Mentorria-supported country for the duration of their engagement.
